The Parsons Advocate

I am trying so hard to socialize Ripley with other dogs and it is just not happening.  The only dogs she has been around are her sisters and my brother’s dogs.  She is so hyper that it is going to take some work.  I tried to introduce her to a hybrid wolf dog that is the same age as her.  He was such a sweetie, he was submissive to her and she tried to bite him on the nose.  Some first date, huh?

Momma Said, “You can’t rush love it just happens when it happens.”  I wasn’t looking for a love connection for her, just someone she could play with.  It will just take time I guess.  I would like to hook her up to a wagon and run some of the energy out of her.  Maybe I will get her some backpacks like I see on TV.  She can start to carry her load and maybe work some of the sass out of her.

March is turning out to be a month of changes.  One day sunshine, next day rain and just throw some snow in for the heck of it.  It is a time of the year for things to start waking up and I see forsythia blooming, my maple tree is starting to bud and I just hope we don’t get a late frost and kill everything.  As long as the fruit trees don’t start to bloom and get hit with a freeze, it will be alright.

I just want it to stay dry and not turn the yard into another mud hole.  I think I am just going to get tons and tons of stone and turn the yard into a huge patio.  Momma Said, “I am sure the dog will find another way to get dirty.”  You’ve got to love them no matter what.

Million Dollar Spaghetti Casserole

INGREDIENTS:

1 lb. ground beef

1 jar spaghetti sauce

8 oz. cream cheese

¼ cup sour cream

½ lb. cottage cheese (equals 1 cup)

½ cup butter (1 stick)

1 16 oz. pkg. spaghetti

Grated cheddar cheese

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat your oven to 350°. Boil your spaghetti noodles until al dente (firm). Drain and set aside until ready to assemble.

Combine the cream cheese, sour cream and cottage cheese until well blended.

Brown your hamburger and when done, drain well. Combine the hamburger with your spaghetti sauce.

Put a few slices of butter into a 9×13 pan then pour half of your spaghetti noodles on top.

Take your cream cheese mixture and pour on top of the noodles. Spread well over noodles.

Pour the rest of the noodles on top of the cream cheese mixture. Put a few more slices of butter on top of the noodles.

Pour your spaghetti and meat sauce on top of your noodles.

Now it is ready to put into the oven for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, pour the desired amount of grated cheese on top and return to the oven for 15 minutes to allow cheese to melt.
