Mr. Mike Shelor, 87, of Meadows of Dan passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. He was born on December 14, 1934, to the late Harry Allen Shelor and Rillie Scott Shelor in Meadows of Dan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Carlene Keith Shelor, and all six of his brothers and sisters. Mike spent 25 years at J.P. Stevens in Stuart, where he became a supervisor and retired after 10 years of service as a machinist with Micrometrics Systems in Meadows of Dan. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and most patient Poppy not only to his granddaughter and great-grandchildren but to many in the community. His gentle nature, humble spirit, and kindness will be greatly missed.
He is survived by a daughter, Felecia Shelor; a granddaughter, Casey Davis and husband, Timmy; great-grandchildren, Rain and Banner Davis all of Meadows of Dan.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 25, 2022, at 3:00 pm at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor John Franklin officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Burnette Family Cemetery, located at 2214 JEB Stuart Highway, Meadows of Dan, VA 24120.
