Catawba Masonic Lodge No. 342 installed a new slate of officers in February. The members also celebrated the outstanding service of outgoing Master Tyler Painter, who due to Covid, served two years.
Past Grand Master and retired State Police Lt. Gary Taylor came from Wytheville to conduct the installation. A large crowd of 38 Masons attended as this was the “kick-off event” of Catawba’s celebration of its chartering 100 years ago. Other celebration events will occur during the year, including later this month when the Grand Master will visit.
The Master this year is Louis K. “Kerry” Campbell of Fincastle, a Past Grand Master, who preciously served as Master in 1979 and 1991.
