Students at Buchanan Elementary School help to support the local food pantry with a canned food drive held annually during Red Ribbon Week.
Hayana, Hayven and Haylee Thompson, along with Maddox Taylor, are some of the generous Buchanan Elementary students pictured with some of the food collected over a two-week period.
Students brought canned food items to school beginning the week of October 24 (RRW) through the week of November 11 (an additional week added to collect). The school began the canned food idea a long time ago with the slogan “We CAN Say No to Drugs!” and has continued this tradition. Students did not visit the food pantry, but the food was collected for the Buchanan Presbyterian Church Food Pantry.
