MILL CREEK – The Mt. Lions traveled to Tygarts Valley on Monday March 27th.  Tucker County scored first as they collected 1 run in the 3rd inning to make the score 1-0 Mt. Lions.  The Bulldogs answered back in the 4th inning with 3 runs and Tygarts Valley scored 1 run in the 5th inning to make the score 4-1 Bulldogs after 5 innings.  Tucker County could not complete the comeback as they scored 1 run in the 7th inning to make the final score 4-2 Tygarts Valley.

The Mt. Lions managed just 2 hits on offense as Ethan Rosenau and Justin Robeson collected 1 hit each for Tucker County.  Rosenau got the start on the mound for Tucker County.  Rosenau went 4 innings and gave up 3 hits and Mason Kisamore went to the mound in relief pitching 2 innings to give up just 1 hit.

 

HAMBLETON – The Tucker County Baseball team hosted Pendleton County on Wednesday March 29th.  The Wildcats started the game with 2 runs in the 1st inning and then the Mt. Lions fought back with 1 run in the bottom of the 1st inning to make the score 2-1 Pendleton County after 1 inning.  The visiting Wildcats added 4 runs in the 3rd and 2 runs in the 4th inning to extend their lead to 8-1 after 4 innings.  Tucker County would score 1 run in the 5th inning and 1 run in the 7th inning, but Pendleton County added 1 run in the 6th inning and 5 runs in the 7th inning to put the game away.  Tucker County fell to Pendleton County by the score of 14-3. 

Justin Robeson started the game for Tucker County on the pitching mound as he went 2 innings surrendering 5 runs off 1 hit.  Nate Ricottilli, Mason Kisamore, Xander Lambert and Recee Poling seen pitching action for the Mt. Lions in the loss.   Tucker County was led at the plate by Nate Ricottilli, Mason Kisamore and Xander Lambert as they collected 1 double each for Tucker County.  Kisamore and Ricottilli added 1 single each and Justin Robeson had 2 hits for the Mt. Lions.  Balike Adams added 1 hit for Tucker County to bring the hit total to 8 on the night for the Mt. Lions.

 

HAMBLETON – The Mt. Lions ended the week with a game Thursday March 30th at home against Trinity.  The game started with 2 scoreless innings.  Then Trinity scored 1 run in the top of the 3rd inning.  Tucker County answered back in the bottom of the 3rd with 4 runs to make the score 4-1 Mt. Lions after 3 innings.  Trinity then scored 6 runs in the top of the 4th to make it 7-4 Warriors halfway through the 4th.  Tucker County then fought back with 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th and then the Mt. Lions scored 6 runs in the 5th inning to build the home teams lead to 13-7.  Trinity then scored 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning and Tucker County got 1 run in the bottom of the 6th to put the score to 14-9.  The visiting Warriors then battled back in the last inning to score 4 runs, but their comeback fell short as the Mt. Lions held them off to get their first win of the season by the score of 14-13.

Tucker County collected 11 hits in the contest.  The Mt. Lions were led at the plate by Mason Kisamore, Recee Poling, Nate Ricottilli, Reid Kisamore and Sam Marks who all collected 1 double in the game.  Mason Kisamore and Reid Kisamore had 2 hits total in the contest while Ethan Rosenau, Justin Robeson, Xander Lambert and Blaike Adams chipped in with 1 hit each for Tucker County in the win.    

 

Tucker County(1-4) will return to action tonight Wednesday April 5th as they host Moorefield at 6pm.  The Mt. Lions will then travel to Preston on Friday April 7th for a doubleheader and then they will travel to Gilmer County for an afternoon doubleheader on Saturday April 8th starting at 1pm.  For more information go to TuckerCountySports.com.
