Botetourt County elementary school students and their families are invited to discover mystery boxes across Virginia. Author Tara Fisher, who recently published her book “Virginia is for Adventurers,” recently announced the state-wide 2022 scavenger hunt schedule on her website (https://virginiaisforadventurers.com/2022-scavenger-hunt).
The scavenger hunt occurs across the state for six weekends starting on June 10 in Wytheville. The scavenger hunt arrives in the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah Valley regions on June 17 at the Roanoke Star and June 18 at Natural Bridge State Park. Each location will offer an adventure and prizes. All participants who turn in a clue sheet are eligible for the grand prize ($250 cash and a $2,500 donation to the winner’s elementary school or library). The grand prize drawing takes place on August 15.
“Virginia is for Adventurers” is a story about a girl named Meg who is joined by friends as they participate in a scavenger hunt across the state of Virginia. The Town of Buchanan is a featured location in Fisher’s book.
