The Botetourt Chamber of Commerce is excited to host a ribbon-cutting celebration for Roanoke Valley Direct Primary Care on Friday, September 23, at noon. The practice will also hold an open house from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for an opportunity to meet Dr. Slayton and learn about Direct Primary Care and his new practice.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) offers an innovative model for managing healthcare costs for families and individuals. DPC practices provide a broad range of primary care and medical administrative services for an affordable flat monthly fee without co-pays or hidden charges. DPC practices generally have fewer patients (250-500 rather than 2,000-3,000). The smaller practice size with few insurance disruptions allows for better patient access, longer appointment times, and personalized health care. According to the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), “the model is structured to emphasize and prioritize the intrinsic power of the relationship between a patient and their family physician to improve health outcomes and lower overall health care costs. “
Dr. R. Parker Slayton is board certified in Family Medicine and licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Before opening this new practice in Daleville, he practiced family medicine in Vinton, Virginia, for nine years. He is excited to be offering this new practice model to his patients. The new location is 25 Wendover Road, 2nd Floor, Suite C, Daleville. To read more about his practice, please visit www.RVDPC.com.
