Mrs. Patricia “Trish” Leigh Hubbard Handy, age 62, of Stuart, Virginia went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at SOVAH Hospital of Martinsville She was born in Patrick County on September 6, 1960, to Wayne Ethan Hubbard and Nancy Louise Williams Hubbard. Trish was preceded in death by her father. Trish was an amazing wife, daughter, sister, mother, nanny, and friend. She was always smiling and had a big hug for everyone. She was selfless, always willing to help anyone that she could. Trish was known for her natural green thumb and enjoyed taking care of houseplants and flowers, always trying to root special flowers for her friends and family. She loved the sunshine and could spend all day lying on the beach and always asked for a seashell souvenir from friends and family. She worked at many places in the community over the years and made friends wherever she was because she never met a stranger and loved to talk. Above all else, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by the ones she left behind, but there is comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is once again made whole.
Left to cherish the special memories of Mrs. Handy are her loving husband, James “Carl” Handy of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Anne Handy Grigas (Andrew) of Rocky Mount, Virginia; two beloved grandchildren, Ethan James Grigas, Madeline Johanna Grigas, both of Rocky Mount, Virginia; one brother, Phillip Wayne Hubbard of Valdosta, Georgia; and many dear and special friends.
