CHARLESTON, W.Va. — “Heading home after a busy day meeting with Trump Administration leaders,” Gov. Patrick Morrisey announced in an April 22 X post documenting his trip to Washington.
Morrisey noted he had met with U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, Department of Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy and senior White House staff.
Morrisey didn’t announce that he had been accompanied on his trip to Washington to meet with the nation’s most powerful federal health officials by his wife, Denise Henry Morrisey — a longtime health care industry lobbyist.
Denise Morrisey has attended related events with her husband in Washington on multiple occasions, according to photos she and the governor posted on social media.
State records obtained by the Gazette-Mail via a Freedom of Information Act request indicate Denise Morrisey traveled with Patrick Morrisey on four taxpayer-supported flights to Washington from February to April 2025 at a cost of just under $15,000.
