Isaac (Bud) Ephraim Miller III, 69, of Salem, Va., went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 18, 2022.
Bud was born in Hatcher, W.Va., on Dec. 29, 1952. He graduated from Alleghany District High School in 1972, and served in the Army Reserves from 1972 until 1984. He worked at General Electric for over 30 years starting as a young floor sweeper. Bud had a contagious smile and a giving heart. His daughters speak about his love for 80’s music and will forever cherish his mixed tapes. Bud was “a kid at heart,” making holidays extra special for his grandchildren even if it meant removing all the white lights and putting up colored lights just days before Christmas. Puddle jumping, walks to the Dilly Dally, and trips to Pizza Hut in the minivan are special memories for the grandchildren. Behind that quiet personality was a smart, witty man who was fiercely competitive at cornhole, bocee ball, and BINGO.
Preceding him in death was his father, Isaac Miller II; wife, Wilma Louise Chelf Miller; and sisters, Carolyn Ratliff and Cathryn Thompson.
His surviving family includes his mother, Jenovee Miller; children, Holly Cromer Ireland and Heather Cromer Blevins; siblings, Charlotte Paitsel, Ronnie Miller, Jimmy Miller, and Dewey Cook; and grandchildren, Katelyn Bishop and Emma Blevins.
We want to thank Salem Richfield Independent Living, Skilled Nursing, and Assisted Living for being a loving and supporting family to us. We will miss you “BoBo”.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Gospel Baptist Church. Online condolences may be expressed at www.johnmoakey.com.
