Antique vehicles bring fond and fun memories to many who enjoy looking at them, and for some, in owning and showing them.
The O. Marshall Reynolds Memorial Automobile Show is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 9 at the Annual Craig County Fall Festival on Main Street, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Antiques, street rods, mud trucks and more are encouraged to join in on this festive day.
Plaques will be presented to the first 60 entries of the show and some goody bags as well. Thirty-three vehicles have already preregistered.
Also, the local Food Country grocery store will be showing its NASCAR Truck and Tractor at the show.
However, there will be no judging this year, just a time to share your vehicle with others and a day of fun and socializing with hundreds of fans.
It is suggested to arrive between 7-9 a.m. to place vehicles, before congestion of traffic begins.
There is an entry fee of $20 per vehicle. Checks can be made to the Craig County Historical Society and registrations can be [email protected] or call (540) 520-5555. Pre-registration form and check can be mailed to Dr. Jackie R. Taylor, 330 Cumberland Avenue, New Castle, Virginia 24127. (Or send in name, address, phone, email and make and model of the vehicle with the check.)
Forms can also be found on the bulletin board at Food Country.
This year, Jackie and Glenn won the Best Antique Award for their 1956 Victoria, at Olde Salem Days car show.
The sponsor of the Craig County show this year is South Main Auto Service in Blacksburg, owned by David Reynolds, son of Marshall Reynolds.
Over the years, the folks in Craig and surrounding counties have enjoyed this show, as adults and kids alike take pictures with their favorite vehicles.
