Mrs. Mabel Frances Hylton Reynolds age 84 of Critz, Virginia went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of April 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Patrick County on June 3, 1937 to the late Robert Lee Hylton and Mary Tatum Hylton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Loir Reynolds; two sons, Barry Reynolds and Christopher Reynolds; two great-grandsons; five sisters, Evelyn Tatum, Beulah Mae King, Mary Glenn, Beatrice Hughes, and Doretha Reynolds; and two brothers, Robert Lee Hylton and Chester Hylton. Mabel was a member of Mount Nebo Holiness Church for over 60 years and was the Mother of the church. She was a woman of strong faith and was a mother to everyone. She loved cooking, working in her yard, attending her flowers, and she especially loved children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Left to cherish the memory of Mrs. Reynolds are her five daughters, Bernice Reynolds of Critz, Wanda Hagwood and husband, Moses of Critz, Glenda Dalton and husband, Chris of Greensboro, Kathleen Penn and husband, Tony of Ridgeway and Angela Faye and husband, John of Spencer; three sons, Tony Reynolds of Stuart, Curtis Reynolds and wife, Crystal of Patrick Springs, and Charles Reynolds and wife, Wendy of Patrick Springs; one sister, Barbara Hairston of Spencer; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and a great host of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in Mount Nebo Holiness Church Cemetery (located on Trent’s Orchard Road in Patrick Springs) with Pastor Leander Reynolds presiding and Pastor Sammy Hagwood eulogizing. Mrs. Reynolds will lie in state at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening.
