Adam Neal, Prevention and Wellness Specialist from Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare in Roanoke, spoke at the June 21 Lions Club meeting. He acquainted the audience with RAYSAC (Roanoke Area Substance Abuse Coalition) where concerned citizens strive to keep youth and young adults informed, educated, and aware so that they can make healthy decisions concerning alcohol, tobacco, and drugs.
Their goals include educating the people about keeping meds locked up at home, how to recognize and direct substance abusers on where to get help, safely destroying drugs that are no longer needed, and how deadly fentanyl is used to lace drugs.
