GLENVILLE – The Tucker County Boys’ Basketball team traveled to Gilmer County on Thursday February 2nd. The Mt. Lions got off to a quick start and never looked back as they got the road win by the score of 65-23.
The first quarter was won by Tucker County as they led after one quarter 26-6. In the second quarter the Mt. Lions extended their lead as they outscored Gilmer County 8-4 in the second to make the halftime score 34-10.
The Mt. Lions continued to dominate the game in the third quarter as they outpaced the Titans 13-5 to make the Tucker County lead 47-15 after three quarters of play. The visiting Mt. Lions then scored 20 points in the fourth as they held Gilmer County to 8 points. This made the final score 67-23 Tucker County.
Ethan Rosenau and Travan Bonner led Tucker County in scoring with 13 points each. Owen Knotts chipped in with 11 points, 7 rebounds. Ashton Lycliter led the Mt. Lions on the boards with 9 rebounds. The Mt. Lions JV team picked up the win also 33-23.
Tucker County(10-4) will return to action tonight Wednesday February 8th at Tygarts Valley. The Mt. Lions will then host Southern, MD on Saturday February 11th at 5:45pm. For more info go to TuckerCountySports.Com.
