Appalachian Voices Book Club

Therapy Dog Reading Session
Thursday, September 22, 3:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m., Fincastle Library
Children ages 5-12 can read any book of their choice in a 1-on-1 session with a therapy dog, which can help them be more confident, less stressed and more focused later in the classroom. Call 540-928-2900 or any branch to register for your child’s 15-minute reading session.

The annual Fincastle Festival aims to highlight the history of Fincastle and promote today’s artisans, vendors, and business. The library will participate by hosting local authors through a drop-in meet and greet. Featured local authors include: Rachel Edwards, Chuck Finn, Rhonda McDonald, Rebecca Boone, and Suzanne Barron.

Grade school kids learn key STEM skills – how to experiment, make mistakes, and learn from their experiences. The projects we do in STEM Club are a fun way to increase critical thinking and logical analysis skills, instilling a lifelong passion for learning.
