CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. — Over 500 people gathered at Washington High School Tuesday evening, where the Jefferson County Planning Commission had its regular meeting and voted to reject the Mountain Pure Water bottling facility concept plan led by Sidewinder Enterprises.
This concept plan proposes building the facility at the old 3M site and a waterline running through Middleway to transport water from its wells to the treatment plant.
More than 120 people took the time to speak to the commission, making their voices heard. A few speakers came to share their support for the project, including members of the West Virginia Building and Construction Trades. They believe the project will bring many local jobs to the community.
