The Greenbrier County Commission met for their regular meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at 10 a.m., to discuss personnel matters.
The Commission approved the hire of a new deputy sheriff. Though unable to attend, Sheriff Bruce Sloan sent a written statement requesting the commission approve the hire of Shane Peacock. Peacock, currently a member of the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Department, is a certified police officer and has passed all prerequisite tests, a background investigation, and evaluations. The County also approved the hire of a new home confinement officer, Beatrice Fury, and the rehire of Dave McCracken to the Planning and Permit Department.
The Greenbrier County Commission meets again on Sept. 27 at 10 a.m. in the County Commission office in the basement of the courthouse. The public is encouraged to attend.
