The Patrick County School Board approved extending Schools Superintendent Jason Wood’s contract to a 4-year term at its June 23 meeting.
Wood’s new contract will run from July 1 to June 30, 2026.
Rob Martin, of the Dan River District, said he is proud of the job Wood is doing for the school division. “It’s been very good, and I think there is a lot of positivity going down to our school system and everything since I’ve got on the board,” he said.
In other matters, the board:
*Approved the personnel report as amended.
*Approved the consent agenda.
*Approved the revised fiscal year 2022-2023 budget.
*Approved authorization for Wood to authorize payments of any invoices received after June 23.
