Attic Productions’ next live theatre performance on the stage will be “The Spiral Staircase,” adapted for the stage by F. Andrew Leslie from Mel Dinelli.
The setting is a small New England town, and the suspense begins on a dark and stormy night, where a young woman, Helen, must face her fears as her protectors leave one by one, leaving her at the mercy of a serial killer on the loose who is preying on young women with disabilities. Helen has been mute since watching her parents perish in a house fire. How can she defend herself if she can’t speak, or scream?
Linsee Lewis directs a talented group of local actors, and is assisted by Stage Manager Laura Ludlow. This production is presented by special permission of Dramatists Play Service through Broadway Licensing, with partial funding by the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The cast includes: Nurse Barker, Kelli Hobson; Professor Warren, Owen Merritt; Stephen Rice, Steve Aaron; Constable, Michel Johnson; Mrs. Oates, Carol Royal; Mrs. Warren, Kathy Boyer; Dr. Parry, Paul Mullins; and Helen, Katie Cornelison.
