Corn Squeezins, a program presented September 3 at Fairy Stone State Park, brought to life the history of moonshine in Patrick County and surrounding areas.
The audience was treated to a history lesson and entertained by stories of local moonshiners as told by Park Ranger Danny Martin, along with several members of the park staff who portrayed a moonshining family. From the origins and culture of the Scotch-Irish who settled the area, to modern-day moonshiners, Corn Squeezins brought to life a subject with a long local history.
