The area surrounding the Mound on U.S. 60 in South Charleston will be transformed into an arts and crafts festival on Saturday, the South Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau announced in a news release Wednesday.
The Mound Arts & Crafts Festival, now in its 47th year, is a South Charleston tradition that brings West Virginia artisans, crafters and community members together to celebrate local craftsmanship and creativity.
The festival will feature more than 70 vendors with handmade items and artwork, including woodworking, jewelry, paintings, needlework and more. Other activities and entertainment will be available, such as live music, inflatables for children, a DJ and food vendors along Seventh Avenue.
New to the festival this year is Mound Bucks, which attendees can receive when they donate cans of food for the Heart + Hand Food Pantry. For every four cans of food donated, people will receive $3 in Mound Bucks to spend at any festival food vendor.
“The Mound Festival has always been about bringing our community together, and this gives everyone another opportunity to make a positive difference right here in South Charleston,” Mound Festival Co-Chair Margie Spence said in the news release.
