Botetourt County Parks and Recreation has unveiled the first two conceptual designs for the Greenfield Recreation Park Master Plan, marking an important early step in a long-term vision for one of the county’s most beloved outdoor spaces.
The concepts, released last week, are the result of community survey feedback gathered over recent months. According to Parks and Recreation officials, resident input played a central role in shaping the preliminary layouts, amenities, and overall direction of the proposed park improvements.
“We’ve heard you,” the department shared in a recent social media announcement, emphasizing that the designs reflect what community members said they want to see at Greenfield Recreation Park.
The two concepts offer different approaches to organizing park features and amenities, giving residents a chance to compare ideas and consider what best fits the community’s needs. While specific elements may evolve, the designs are intended to spark conversation and gather focused feedback rather than present a finished plan.
Parks and Recreation officials stress that these concepts are not final drafts. Instead, they are working documents that will continue to be refined through public discussion and additional input.
Residents are encouraged to review the designs and complete a short online survey to share their thoughts. Feedback can also be submitted through direct messages to the department’s social media channels, where staff say they will be actively monitoring questions and comments.
“This is very much a collaborative process,” officials noted. “The goal is to shape the future of Greenfield Recreation Park together with the people who use and love it.”
The survey is available online and takes only a few minutes to complete. Residents of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to participate, ensuring the final master plan reflects a broad range of voices.
As the planning process continues, Parks and Recreation plans to provide updates and additional opportunities for public involvement. For now, officials hope residents will take time to review the concepts and help guide the next chapter of Greenfield Recreation Park.
