BLUEFIELD — While his team of “Barnwood Builders” have reclaimed historic cabins and barns across Appalachia and beyond, the Davidson House project in Bluefield is of particular importance to Mark Bowe.
“I think this one is a little more significant for us because number one it’s in West Virginia,” Bowe, who is best known for the HBO Max reality television show “Barnwood Builders,” said Monday of the historic cabin at Bluefield City Park. “Number two it’s a historic landmark and we get the opportunity to restore and repair it. And for us, that’s what we started doing almost 30 years ago.”
Bowe, and the team at Barnwood Living in Greenbrier County, disassembled the historic Bluefield cabin in record time last week. All of the logs are now being safely stored at another location where they will be treated and repaired. The cabin’s foundation also will be repaired and prepared for reassembly of the logs. The hope is to have the cabin rebuilt by next spring.
Bowe was back in Bluefield Monday with members of the Barnwood Builders team helping to remove debris from the cabin site.
