The Cougars’ JV Baseball team overcame an early deficit with key hits, solid baserunning, and gritty pitching to down Radford 12-2 at Radford on March 24. Tied at 2 heading into the 3rd inning, the Cougars executed a suicide squeeze bunt by Zach Holt that scored 2 runs to start an 8 run inning that broke open the game. Easton Harris also had a 2 run double in the 3rd. The hitting attack was led by Holt with 3 RBIs, while Harris and Chance Corns also had 2 RBIs a piece. David Lawson added 2 hits with Harris and Eric Martinez adding a hit as well. Lucas Taylor pitched 3 and 2/3 innings allowing 6 hits and 2 runs while striking out 5. Christian Hylton closed the game with an inning and a third by striking out all 4 batters he faced. The Cougars are 5-0 on the season.
