Beginning today, payments for service provided by the Patrick County Public Service Authority (PSA) must be made at the Patrick County Treasurer’s Office in the Patrick County Administration Office or mailed to P.O. Box 6, Stuart.
Payments will no longer be accepted by the Town of Stuart.
Mark Vernon, director of the PSA, said the agency is instituting its own billing and collections system, based on the recommendation of auditors.
“So, whereas the town was originally taking payments at their office and doing the billings and collections, the PSA will now be doing that in-house,” he said.
Vernon said the PSA also will be reading all of its own meters.
“The Town of Stuart will no longer be doing that for us,” he said.
Vernon said the change shouldn’t affect residents in any way “other than they just have to send in their payments to another place.”
Customers needing to make account inquiries, service issues, or maintenance needs should contact the PSA business office at (276) 694-6094.
