The Patrick County Music Association (PCMA) will host Alan Bibey’s Mandolin Festival on Saturday.
Sponsored by Betty’s Outdoors in Walnut Cove, N.C., the show will be held Saturday, Feb. 18 at the Rotary Building in Stuart. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the music will start at 6 p.m.
PCMA President Denny Alley said Alan Bibey & Grasstowne will headline the event.
“Bibey’s the 2019 IBMAA (International Bluegrass Music Association) mandolin Player of the Year,” he said.
Bibey also won the 2001 IBMA Instrumental Recording of the Year and the Recorded Event of the Year awards.
Vince Bullins, Kyser George, Nick Goad, Ron Inscore, Greg Jones, Joey Lemons, Spencer Strickland, and others will also take the stage.
Alan Bibey & Grasstowne have released six albums. The newest album, “Hitchhiking to California,” was released in 2021.
Bibey has also recorded 17 albums as a solo performer and has appeared on over a dozen additional albums.
Jeff Little Trio, a bluegrass piano player, and New River Line, a country quartet, will perform at the March show.
Admission is a $5 donation at the door. Lawn chairs are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded throughout the night.
Concessions will be available for purchase from the Patrick County Shooting Education Team, with proceeds going to teach children in the area firearm safety.
