Salem’s annual “Winterfest Beach Bash” is set to return in February of 2023 with the Band of Oz. The latest version of this wintertime beach party will take place on Friday, Feb. 3, at 7 p.m. inside the Salem Civic Center. This is the 16th straight year that the Hall of Fame band has been selected to headline this event.
Tickets for the group’s appearance went on sale at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 12, at the Salem Parks & Recreation Department, 620 Florida Street. Admission is $10 in advance and $12 the day of the show or you can purchase a table of eight for just $80. Cash, check or credit card will be accepted between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays from Dec. 13 – Feb. 3. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and proceeds from the event will benefit the Penguin Club’s community service projects. The City of Salem Parks and Recreation Department, InFirst Federal Credit Union and P.A. Short Distributing Company are once again spearheading the popular concert. Coolers and outside food or drinks are not permitted inside the arena for this event.
The Band of Oz was enshrined in the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame in 2016 with fellow honorees The Avett Brothers, Kelly Pickler and The Carolina Chocolate Drops. The “Band of Oz” has been playing beach music at packed venues since 1967.
