The Patrick County High School Football team lost its district contest on the road at Halifax Friday night, 42-20.
Offensively, the Cougars were led by Demontez Hill, who rushed for 98 yards on 9 carries with 2 touchdowns. Aden Penn added 77 yards on 18 carries. Peyton Cambron added 11 yards on 4 carries. Jai Penn led all Cougar receivers with 54 yards on 3 catches with a touchdown. Aden Penn added 4 receptions for 42 yards, Payton Stovall had one catch for 18 yards, and Cambron had one catch for 12 yards.
Defensively, the Cougars were led by Matt Allen with 11 tackles. Cambron and Sam Hubbard had 9 tackles each. Stephen Spencer had 4 tackles and 2 forced fumbles, while Hill and Jai Penn both added an Interception.
The Cougars will be back in action this Friday night on the John D. Hooker Field at 7 p.m. to take on the Martinsville Bulldogs.
