The final winners were Logan Armstrong – first, Dylan Armstrong – second and Dustin Price took third.

The full-size cars hit the ring and engines were rumbling while drivers were on ready with their minds attentive to their strategies for a win. There was only one heat, and the drivers were Donnie Fisher – 21, Derek Dudding – 13, Jimmy Owens – 09, Matt Flinchum – 97, Charlie Foutz – 38, Corey Trivett – 35, Blake Pile – 777, Braeden Morris – 69, PJ Welch – 56 and Justin Dudding – 54.

As drivers hit, and hit hard, everyone seemed to be vying for the win. The crowd cheered them all on as hits were made and cheers got louder.

“It made for a great show!” emcee David Looney shared.

Derek shared that he had engine problems the whole night of the derby. “The car kept shutting down on me,” he said. “The steering ended up locked all the way right.” Still, as all Craig County derby drivers do, he congratulated the other winners.

Donnie Wayne Fisher took first place in the big car derby.

“I would like to thank all my friends and family. Like always, it’s fun, win or lose. The car still looks good, and I will fix a few things and run it somewhere again!” he shared. “I got to thank Brent Niner for the front-end setup. I do believe 03 up are my favorite cars. It was a fun one and a good show last night – I had a blast running with you guys.”

Fisher gave a big thanks to Metal Carnage as he took home the infamous “Mad Dog” award. Dudding also took first place in the New River Valley derby in July.

The Annual Fall Demolition Derby is scheduled after the Fall Festival in downtown New Castle, on Saturday, Oct. 8 which gives everyone enough time to set up their vehicles for a great night of super demolition!
