The Stuart Volunteer Fire Department stabilized a vehicle involved in a collision Thursday morning in Stuart. The crash occurred in the parking lot between BB&T Bank and the Stuart Post Office. John West, administrative president for the department, said calls came out at 11:30 a.m. with members of the department arriving on scene about five minutes later.
“We used support struts, or rescue jacks, to secure the truck so that the tow trucks on scene could pull the car underneath it out. Then we put the truck back down,” he said.
West estimates the call took about an hour to complete and five members were on the scene.
