Thomas, WV – Cortland Acres is pleased to announce Bradley W. Phillips as the new Director of Maintenance of Cortland Acres and all campus facilities. A long-time resident of Thomas and former owner of Phillips Electronics, Phillips brings critical knowledge to the position.
“My wife and I decided to take a different course in our lives,” explains Phillips. “So, when the Director position became available, I applied. At Cortland, every day is different. Some days are more challenging than others, while all are rewarding.”
A graduate of Tucker County High School, Phillips is a Master Electrician and holds numerous certifications from advanced technical training. Working along-side his wife Delores for 34-years running Phillips Electronics, he worked in Tucker and surrounding counties tackling commercial and residential jobs.
In addition to Cortland Acres, Phillips and his staff are also responsible for upkeep and maintenance on Pineview Apartments, the expanding independent living options at The Pines, campus employee housing, 35-acres of grounds to maintain, the High Tunnel resident garden, the newly planted orchards, and all roads winding around campus.
“It’s been interesting to me to see how a larger operation works,” explains Phillips. “The goals Cortland has for its campus, and the surrounding community is exciting. I look forward to being part of that vision and helping to take Cortland into the future.”
