Patrick County Lady Cougars hosted Floyd March 22, defeating the Lady Buffaloes 11-1.
Abigail Epperson threw a no hitter with 13 strikeouts for the Cougars. Brooke Meade had 3 hits and an RBI. Lauren Fulcher had a home run with 2 RBIs. Epperson, Lainie Hopkins, and Tessa Haas had 2 hits each. Samantha Harris hit a grand slam with 4 RBIs in the win. The Lady Cougars traveled to Bassett Friday night, falling 8-1. Epperson pitched 4 innings, striking out 8 and giving up 5 runs. McKenzie Holt pitched 3 innings, striking out 4 and giving up 3 runs. Brooke Meade had the lone RBI for the Cougars. Epperson, Hopkins and Holt each had hits. The Cougars left 11 runners on base, never getting the big hit. The Lady Cougars fall to 3-1 on the season.
