Sir Kim Darroch, Governor Jim Justice, and Speaker of the House Roger Hanshaw were introduced to the students and staff at Clay County High School by Logan Vance. Mr. Darroch spoke to the students about his background and his duties in representing Britain and reporting to Queen Elizabeth. The AP Government and Politics students took part in a question and answer session with questions about the difference between the United States and Britain’s government.

Many topics were discussed and it was a learning experience for all who attended.  Some topics that were discussed were Britain’s relationship with the European Union and how the Queen of England is involved in the government. Governor Jim Justice followed with a session of his own answering questions about another 5 percent raise for public employees and if he will run for office again in 2020.
