1 dead, 2 hospitalized in fiery head-on crash in Virginia

DOSWELL, Va. (AP) — Authorities in Virginia are looking for a driver accused of fleeing the scene of a car crash that killed one man and sent two other people to a hospital.
The crash happened Saturday after the Hanover County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a car that was driving recklessly on a road in Doswell, news outlets reported.
Deputies said the driver of a Jeep had sideswiped one car, and got into a head-on collision with another vehicle driving in the opposite direction. That car caught on fire, and the driver was transported to the hospital.
The driver of the Jeep escaped on foot, leaving behind two passengers in his car, deputies said. One of the passengers was transported to a hospital, while the other was pronounced dead at the scene.
The third driver in the crash did not sustain any injuries.
Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the sheriff’s office.
