RADFORD – A Radford man is being held without bond after he led police on a vehicle chase on Thursday.

Steven M. Parks, 36, of Radford is being held at the New River Valley Regional Jail after refusing to stop for a traffic stop and being found with narcotics after police caught up with him.

According to Interim Police Chief Angie Frye, “Radford City Police Officer C.R. Benson attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu in the 500 block of Rock Road in the City of Radford” on Thursday.

“The driver of the vehicle began to elude the officer, and a pursuit was initiated by the officer,” Frye wrote in a statement Thursday. “The pursuit then led onto southbound Interstate 81 at the 105 exit.
