The ceremony was held to showcase a new display of Vietnam-era memorabilia that was added to the Wall of Honor.

Several speakers addressed the crowd gathered for the ceremony, sharing information and anecdotal stories about those who died there, including Marine, Lance Cpl. John Mathas James, and several who served in the Army, including Spc. Frederick Curtis Bullington; Warrant Officer Larry James Talley; Sgt. Israel Lonzo Ingram; Cpl. Bobby Larry Corns; Pfc. Bernard Allen Sowder and Pfc. Roger Dale Bowman.

Harless Belcher spearheaded the event, and was among the speakers along with Tom Perry, Butch Petit, Bruce Griffith, Jackie Belcher, Shelby Puckett, Harold Spencer and others.

After his remarks, Perry, who also presented etchings from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial, asked those who served in Vietnam to raise their hand.

To them he said “Welcome home.”
