ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA – The Davis Medical Center Diabetes Prevention Program is one of only two programs in West Virginia to achieve preliminary recognition by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Education and community outreach are important parts of Davis Medical Center’s chronic disease management programming.  DMC’srecent designation by the CDC for efforts in diabetes education is a result of successful activities planned throughout the year and targeting those with diabetes. Jim Severino, Director of Nutrition Services and a Certified Diabetes Educator, is seen hosting a supermarket tour where he explains how to cook healthy using fresh fruits and vegetables.
