Though drug use seems to be on the rise in Craig and surrounding areas, County officials are doing their best to join forces and stop its distribution.

On Tuesday, April 24, the Craig County Sheriff’s Office with the Alleghany Highlands Regional Drug and Gang Task Force, executed a search warrant at 180 Woodman Avenue, Apartment 3012 in Craig County.

Two suspects who reside at this residence, Matthew Allen Owens and Kana Elizabeth Nakajima, were taken into custody by the Craig County Sheriff’s Office. Both suspects were charged with three felonies and two misdemeanors.

“A number of drugs were seized,” Sheriff Trevor Craddock said. “Included were Methamphetamine, heroin, marijuana as well as cash.”
